15 - Miners telephone, model 1907, used by German
Imperial Army communications troops at the beginning of
WW I when constructing permanent wire lines. To

Portable
telephone of this type was listed in "Taschenhandbuch
für Feldtelegrafisten" issued in 1917 for German
Imperial army communications troops. Carbon
microphone and electromagnetic receiver were placed
back-to-back near the operator's ear. Such
portable telephones were produced in Germany up to late
1930s. Our sample has a capacitor inside marked
"3.39".
