On
top of that two tubes are installed to their sockets on DKE 38
chassis. Those are (15) VCL 11 and (16) VY 2,
the economy tubes specially designed for German Mini-Receiver (Deutscher
Klein-Empfänger, DKE) of 1938.
Tubes
used in "People's Receivers" (Volks-Empfänger, VE 301)
had special markings on the glass explicitly prohibiting from their
retail separately from VE 301 receivers. This was because
prices for VE 301 receivers (tubes included) have been kept
very low by Nazi government to make "People's Receivers"
available to every German family. Selling tubes alone on the black
market could generate more cash than a complete receiver with tubes
would cost...
