The
A-7 Mk.II radio had 11 valves inside. In our Extended Classification of
"A-7 Family" Radios it is described in
Line No.2. Its predecessor, A-7 Mk.I, was
manufactured for a short time starting December, 1942. The A-7 Mk.I had MCW (F2)
capability on top of voice (F3).
Both
radios are very rare items these days, yet a sample of A-7 Mk.I radio can be
found on display at one of museums in Saint-Petersburg. No samples of A-7 Mk.II
radio was known in Russia though before we have received our current sample from
Louis Meulstee, PA0PCR, of
Holland. Our deep appreciation, Louis!
