Radione R 2a - Another special make of well-known Radione R 2 portable broadcast receiver. LW, MW and SW bands, powered from AC or 6VDC car battery. Manufactured by "Ing. Nikolaus Eltz Radiotechnische Fabrik" (trade mark "Radione") of Wien, Austria.

This version of Radione R 2 also had military type of tuning knob (like in Radione ER 2) and BFO (Beat Frequency Oscillator) for CW telegraphy reception. On top of R2a there were R2c, R2d and R2e known all having BFO factory installed.
